I am a freelance translator based in Stirling, Scotland. While following my passion for literary translation, I am also enjoying more technical work. I have an undergraduate degree in Japanese Studies and a master’s in translation, and have lived in both Japan and France. I began translating full-time in January 2018. I work with SDL Trados and Memcloud, as well as Microsoft Office.
I translate in order to widen the audience of works that I love, and so that others can share the new perspectives on the human condition, beautiful imagery, snapshots of other ways of life, and sheer enjoyment that I experienced. I am particularly interested in translating novels, short stories, and manga in slice-of-life, fantasy, and magical realism genres. I hold an MSc (with Distinction) in Literary Translation as Creative Practice.
